Our Mission & Purpose
The mission and purpose of Cherry Creek is to equip the home to reach a lost and dying world for Jesus Christ. God has blessed us with our homes to make disciples (Acts 2:42). As we grow stronger in our relationship with Jesus Christ through prayer and teaching, a desire to know God more and compassion for our communities will follow. It starts in the home and with you. Through Gods Word, Jesus Christ challenges us to Grow Christ-Centered Homes and impact our community to glorify His Kingdom.
Pastoral & Staff Team
Ryan Doyle, Senior Pastor
Ryan was born and raised in northern Indiana and is the only native Hoosier with a southern accent. He attended Hanover College in southern Indiana before moving to Dallas, TX to pursue his seminary work. He met a wonderful lady from Houston, named Teah, in a seminary class on the Trinity, and they got married in May 2004. He received a Masters of Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary in May 2005. The Lord saw fit to grant Ryan and Teah the painful gift of infertility, and used that gift to open their eyes to the greatest blessings in their life; the adoption of their son, Greg, and daughter, Izabella.
Ryan served as a pastor in Indiana for over 5 years before the Lord called him to shepherd at Cherry Creek in April 2011. He has a passion for Biblical, verse-by-verse preaching with a focus on practical application to life. Ryan is passionate about creating Christ-centered families through Biblical preaching, building intentional authentic community, and encouraging the church to love God and love others. Ryan and Teah currently reside in Portage, where Teah works as a Christian Counselor. They are overjoyed to call Cherry Creek their home, and look forward to welcoming you!
Joe Bragg, Executive Pastor
Joe moved to Kalamazoo from Boston in 2005 and joined the Cherry Creek congregation in February 2008. He volunteered in various ministries throughout the next few years, but found he had a heart for youth ministries and began leading Cherry Creek Endzone and began his role as Director of Student Ministries, in 2010. Since then, Joe has helped to develop students into disciples of Christ and trained them to serve Jesus in the community and in their homes. Seeking to make a difference, Joe has led various mission trips and spoken at youth camps, and been an active member in the community. Joe continues to strive to find innovative ways to meet youth where they are at for the cause of Christ. Joe founded Average Joe Ministries, which is a public speaking ministry geared toward youth summer camps and winter retreats. Joe married his beautiful wife Stephanie in August of 2015, and they are currently expecting their first child in June. Recently, Joe stepped into the Executive Pastor role and he will be overseeing ministry operations here at Cherry Creek.
Jim Minard, Worship Director
Jim has been the worship director at Cherry Creek Community Church since December of 2013, and has served on the CCCC worship team for a total of 3 years. Jim directs the Church Choir during holiday seasons, as well as “extra-curricular” musicians for special events. He and his wife, Erin, have co-led the worship time for the AWANA program for 3 years. Jim is employed at Gull Lake Community Schools. He teaches Choir, General Music, Guitar, Computers, and just about anything else they let him do. Jim attended Western Michigan University and obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education in 2005, and completed his Master’s Degree in Educational leadership in 2013.
Jim is married to the beautiful and caring Erin, and is the doting father of three beautiful children, who have him wrapped around their little fingers. God has blessed Jim and his family immeasurably, and he hopes that by serving in this capacity, people will sense the love of Christ, and of His Church towards them.
Rebecca Manion, Office Manager
Rebecca has served in the church office since 2006 and has been blessed to call Cherry Creek her home church since 2001, where she started out attending youth group. She and her husband met while on a youth trip to Jackson Hole, Wyoming and were married at Cherry Creek in 2005. The Lord blessed them with a wonderful daughter, Elaina, in 2011. Rebecca delights in being able to serve in the church office during the week, as well as care for her daughter in an environment that lifts up families and encourages a growing walk with Christ.
