Church Leadership
The ideal candidate will develop and maintain solid relationships with the Senior Pastor, office manager,
church elders, and volunteers. These are people that will come alongside him to help him through the
process of re-engaging our youth. The ideal candidate will support our church leadership team by having
a complementary skill set. We are looking for someone who can challenge and encourage our church
leaders as iron sharpens iron while being respectful of the positions of authority as laid out by Cherry
Creek’s leadership.
Leadership of Endzone
The ideal candidate will be directly responsible for the implementation of Youth Ministry at Cherry
Creek. This responsibility will include, but not be limited to:
Shepherding and Nurturing
❖ Candidate should be gifted in relating with youth.
⮚ Should inspire our students to renew their relationship with Christ.
⮚ Should have a dynamic personality and love being with youth. (not afraid to get crazy and silly)
⮚ Should be gifted in connecting with young people quickly and naturally be able to get on their
level and address the difficult taboos of our current culture.
⮚ Should be approachable and willing to develop intentional, individual, mentoring relationships
with youth that invoke trust and openness. (know about their lives, empathetically listen to their
struggles, attend some of their activities, celebrate their successes, and challenge them to grow
in Christ)
⮚ Should plan yearly training and conferences for himself and the team for equipping and
refreshing.
⮚ Should exhibit healthy boundaries with youth. (accountability, physical and time boundaries,
social media boundaries)
⮚ Should lead by example, demonstrating consistent integrity in all that he does.
⮚ Should Recognize that the culture around the students changes quickly, the ideal candidate will
be willing to constantly adapt as our world changes.
❖ Candidate should also be able to relate well with parents.
⮚ Should be able to connect with parents to advocate for children, youth, and minister to the
family.
⮚ Should be able to team with parents to help equip parents to disciple their children in their faith
from birth to graduation.
⮚ Should be able to communicate with parents on the fundamentals that will be taught to their
children and youth.
⮚ Should be able to team with the Senior Pastor to minister to families with children and youth when
tragedy strikes.
❖ Candidate should be able to engage with vising families and youth.
⮚ Should be available during Sunday service to interact with vising families.
⮚ Should focus on making children and youth feel seen and welcomed during Sunday service as
well as weekly events.
⮚ Should be training and equipping others to connect with families in his absence.
⮚ Should be able to connect families to other ministry leaders to help the children get connected.
❖ Should be able to lead a group of volunteers to minister to youth.
⮚ Should be able to minister to the volunteer team including praying for them, checking in regularly
with them, and equipping them to serve in their areas of gifting without feeling overwhelmed or
becoming burned out.
⮚ Should understand how to delegate responsibilities as makes sense according to the giing of
volunteer team members.
⮚ Should be actively recruiting new volunteers regularly and be able to inspire a team of adults to
assist him in ministering to the youth.
Administration of Endzone
❖ Event planning and organizing
⮚ Should be able to plan and facilitate weekly meetings for the Endzone.
⮚ Should be able to plan and organize events for Endzone students on a regular basis and
encourage students to invite their friends.
⮚ Should explore and implement new opportunities for the Endzone including new mission
opportunities, camps and retreats, new traditions, and big events.
⮚ Should create a student leadership team to give Endzone students an opportunity to serve
within the Endzone.
⮚ Should cast vision and organize plans for a thriving and fresh youth ministry. He should also be
able to execute his visions and bring others in to help him. He should be as transparent as
possible as to the goals for the Endzone.
Teaching and Preaching of Endzone.
❖ Should plan and teach engaging lessons that invigorate and refresh our youth.
❖ Should have a solid understanding of theology and be able to communicate in an understandable
way to youth.
❖ Should be able to connect with the youth in a way that is meaningful and inspires them to know and
love God.
❖ Should be able to clearly communicate, connect, and invest in the lives of youth.
❖ Should be able to tackle the tough questions that youth have.
❖ Should be able to help youth learn how to study the Bible and recognize it as the authoritative
source of truth in their lives.
❖ Should be able to share the gospel through relationships.
