We are excited that you are interested in learning more about the AWANA program here at Cherry Creek.
Our new AWANA Commander this year is Michelle Bishop! Please contact the church office via our contact form above with any questions or concerns you may have.
Cherry Creek has a flourishing AWANA program on Wednesday nights from 6:00pm to 7:30pm. Age groups include (potty-trained) 3 & 4 year olds in the Cubbies class, Kindergarten through 2nd grade in the Sparks class, and 3rd through 6th grand in Truth & Training. We have developed a strong team of dedicated volunteers who strive to live as Christ-followers. Every volunteer completes an application process, and the safety of all involved is a top priority.
The night starts with all classes in the sanctuary with a welcome, prayer, and the AWANA pledges followed by music time. From music time the classes disperse to different stations and rotate every 15 minutes throughout the night. The stations include a learning class time with snacks in dedicated classrooms for each group, game time occurs either in the sanctuary or outside if the weather cooperates, and verse/listening time. Various awards are earned for completion of learned verses and sections of curriculum. We also have an AWANA Bucks system to encourage learning and good sportsmanship, and have a Bucks Store approximately every 5-6 weeks. We also have theme nights to add an element of fun that students can earn extra Bucks for participating in.
Please inquire for more information if you are interested in volunteering to help with the AWANA program, every volunteer must successfully complete the application process which will include a background check.
